Mrs. Abigail Onadjevune OGHENE joined the services of the Petroleum Training Institute on September 21, 1988 as a Clerical Officer. She served the institute in the Personnel Department (now Human Resources), Maintenance & Works Department (now Directorate of Services), and Examinations & Records Department amongst others before she was posted to the Library Department (now Directorate of Library & Information Technology) in 2002 as a professional librarian with a Bachelor of Library Science (BLS) degree. Having traversed different organs of the Institute, she rose through the ranks and was elevated to the position of  Acting Director in the Directorate of Library Information Technology.

She holds a Diploma in Library Science (1997) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (BLS) 2001 from the Delta State University, Abraka. In furtherance to her appetite for education, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) also from the Delta State University, Abraka in 2008.

She has served the Institute meritoriously for thirty-four years. During this period, she served in various committees which include; Housing Allocation Committee, Long Service Award Committee, Matriculation and Convocation Committee and Best Lecturer Award Committee amongst others.

As a Principal Officer, she is statutorily, a member of the Top Management and Academic Board. She belongs to an array of professional bodies which include: Certified Member,  Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN); Member, Nigerian Library Association (MNLA), and Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM) amongst others.

She is a highly focused visionary leader, a team player and an avowed philanthropist. She is happily married with children.
